Smoke Chambers Chamber Foam and Chamber Coat

The smoke chamber (the Pyramidal area above the damper that narrows down from the fireplace size to the flue) it should be Parged (smooth with cement) is the weakest link in your fireplace system and should be 8″ thick of solid masonry and then 2″ clearance to combustibles (framing) and in most cases have large gaps and holes where smoke, heat, sparks and flames can get through and cause a fire in the walls surrounding your fireplace.

We use Chamber Foam and Chamber Coat they are sister products.

Chamber Foam is a Cement type product that is sprayed up with a Compressor .

Chamber Coat, mixed and is “thrown up like a snow ball” and it sticks  and we can form the smoke chamber for better air flow and to help insulate it.

Depending on what you have we will choose the best product for your chimney

Here is what a  properly constructed Smoke Chamber looks like

After Chamber Foam
